Christine Jowers/Moving Arts Projects is committed to creating memorable artistic experiences for our audiences by integrating our projects into their communities. We offer inventive flexible programming combining traditional theatrical experiences with our unique workshops. Experiences can be geared to dancers and non-dancers alike. There are also possibilities for accomplished artists in your community to be guest performers in our theatrical productions.

Our projects can be performed as distinct evening length programs or combined with workshops and informal, interactive performances. cj/MAPs will work directly with presenters to design programs/workshops/ residencies to fit your community’s needs.

Some examples of programming combinations include:

1. REVEALING ISADORA
performed as an evening theatrical experience with INTERACTIVE ISADORA-the family workshop experience

2. REVEALING ISADORA in combination with AWAKENING DANCING GODDESSES
performed as an evening theatrical experience (as in cj/MAPs 2004 season) combined with a MOVING KIDS SALON in which children in the presenters community create their own dancing stories and/or with an AWAKENING THE DANCING GODDESS-A WORKSHOP FOR WOMEN in the presenters community.

3. THE SINGULAR VOICE OF WOMAN /
THE SINGULAR VOICE WITH THE HEART OF DANCE

presented as an evening performance in combination with the HEART OF DANCE workshop geared towards dancers exploring the art of solo performance

4. A MOVING KIDS SALON
presented as the first event of a week long residency in a school/community in which participants prepare their own choreographies to share in a final performance with cj/MAPs.

5. A MOVING SALON
presented to teachers, dancers and non-dancers as the first event of a residency in a school/community that culminates with cj/MAPs performing one of its evening length projects .The MOVING SALON introduces the audience to the principles behind the creation of the work in the show and opens a dialogue with the artists that help connect the community to what is happening on stage.

There are endless possibilities. To discover the best one for your organization/community contact us at: moveme@movingartsprojects.org
